Waiver Shields Pee-Wee Player, Event Sponsor from Hockey Concussion Liability

A liability waiver signed by a pee-wee hockey player's parents prior to team tryouts, which released from liability "USA Hockey, Inc., its affiliate associations, local associations, member teams, event hosts [and] other participants" was sufficient to uphold summary judgment in favor not only of the sponsor of the tryouts, but also the pee-wee player whose actions allegedly caused the plaintiff's concussion, according to the Minnesota Court of Appeals in an unpublished decision.  [1/19/18]
