Too Much Caffeine is Deadly, Ohio Lawsuit Says

A wrongful death suit was filed against Amazon and other companies by the family of an Ohio teen.  The suit alleges that makers and suppliers of Hard Rhino, a pure caffeine powder, are responsible for failing to properly label the product known to cause acute caffeine toxicity resulting in cardiac arrhythmia and seizure.  By classifying the caffeine powder as a dietary supplement, the suit says the companies "successfully avoided meaningful regulation" by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  [3/10/15]
