Proposed Class Claims J&J and DePuy Implanted Unapproved Hip Replacement Systems Without Patient Consent

Johnson & Johnson and its DePuy Orthopaedics subsidiary have been sued in the Northern District of California in a proposed class action alleging that they implanted “ceramic on metal” hip replacement systems without patients' consent. The replacement systems had also not received Food and Drug Administration approval in clinical trials. [6/23/15]
