No Insurance Coverage for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Who Supplied Pharmaceuticals to Alleged “Pill Mills”

The underlying lawsuit against the manufacturers alleges that they distributed their products to pharmacies that wrote out prescriptions to patients even if there was no legitimate need for the prescription.  The manufacturers made a claim against their insurers.  The insurers argued that the act of supplying prescription drugs to a pharmacy is not an “accident,” and therefore, there was no insurance coverage.  The Florida federal judge agreed.
