Missouri Judge Upholds $110.5 Million Talc Verdict Despite Bristol-Myers

A Missouri circuit judge has ruled that the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Bristol-Myers Squibb did not preclude his St. Louis court from exercise personal jurisdiction over Johnson & Johnson in a multi-plaintiff lawsuit, involving mostly non-Missouri residents, alleging that talcum powder in Johnson & Johnson products caused the plaintiffs’ ovarian cancer. The ruling lets stand a $110.5 million verdict returned in August against the company. [12/5/17]
