Kawasaki To Pay $5.2 Million for Late, Inadequate Reporting to CPSC

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and its US affiliates have agreed to pay a $5.2 million civil penalty to settle charges brought by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that the companies failed timely to report hazardous defects in 2012-2016 model year recreational off-highway vehicles and that the companies, when they did ultimately report, noted only a single incident and did not identify more than 400 similar incidents.
