Johnson & Johnson Hit With $55 Million Verdict in Talc Powder Case

A Missouri state court jury awarded $5 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages to a woman who asserted that her ovarian cancer resulted from decades of use of Johnson & Johnson talc-based powder products, including Baby Powder and Shower to Shower Powder, on her genitals.  The plaintiff accused Johnson & Johnson of failing to warn that talc was linked to an increased risk of ovarian cancer.
