Ghirardelli Accused of Selling Chocolate-Free Products as Real Chocolate in U.S. Territories

A putative class action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico claims that Ghirardelli Chocolate Co., in violation of Food and Drug Administration regulations, deceptively labelled several products as “chocolate” products when they contained no real chocolate.  The putative class includes consumers in Puerto Rico and in all U.S. territories.
