F.D.A Report Says Blue Bell Ignored Listeria Risks

A Food and Drug Administration Report states that Blue Bell Creameries knew that listeria was present in one of its factories as early as 2013, yet failed to adequately improve its cleaning and manufacturing practices. In 2013, federal health inspectors found evidence of the dangerous food-borne pathogen on the floors and a number of other non-food surfaces in the kitchen and processing room of Blue Bell’s Broken Arrow, Oklahoma plant. The report also found that cleaning and sanitizing practices were unchanged as recently as two months ago. [5/8/15]
