Elizabeth Holmes, Founder of One-Time High Flier Theranos, Faces 2-Year Laboratory Ban

The Department of Health and Human Services, in a letter dated March 18 but made public this week, said that it proposed to revoke the federal operating certificate from one-time media darling blood-testing company Theranos and to bar Theranos’s laboratory director and owners – including founder Elizabeth Holmes, from owning or running laboratories for the next two years or longer, as a result of the company's failure to fix major problems at its laboratory in California.  The Wall Street Journal reports that CMS is currently reviewing Theranos' response to CMS’s letter.
