Ebola Vaccine Ready for Safety Trials

Ebola Vaccine Ready for Safety Trials

Two new Ebola vaccines have been shown to protect monkeys against the virus. The vaccines are made by Profectus BioSciences, and are improved versions of an older vaccine that was license to Merck. The vaccines are engineered to recognize a protein from the surface of the Ebola virus, and simulate the immune system to fight it. Human safety trials are likely to begin early this summer.
