Allergan and NY AG Settle Antitrust Suit
Drugmaker Allergan plc and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that they had settled litigation brought by Schneiderman under Section 2 of the Sherman Act with respect to sales of Alzheimer’s medications. Under the terms of settlement, Allergan admitted no liability, released its counterclaims, and agreed to pay $172,000 to New York to help defray a portion of the state's litigation expenses. Allergan also agreed to withdraw its petition for a writ of certiorari, filed in the Supreme Court, challenging a decision of the Second Circuit. [11/25/15]
