Advocacy Group Posts Unsealed Documents Showing Remington Knew of Trigger Defect

The advocacy group Public Justice has posted a searchable database online that contains more than 130,000 documents unsealed from lawsuits brought against Remington Arms Company LLC. The documents indicate that Remington knew for decades that the trigger in several Remington models, including the Remington Model 700—the most popular bolt-action rifle in America—could fire when no one pulled it.  The documents also show that Remington drafted a warning notice in 1995, but decided that the warning was "too strong" and never sent it out.
